wkumchurchWelcome!

Thank you for taking the time to find out more about W-K United Mennonite Church.

Our church is located at 15 George Street, Waterloo.

At WKUM we seek to live out our Mission Statement:

“Loved by God, empowered by the Holy Spirit, we follow Jesus Christ.
As a welcoming Mennonite community,
we worship God, nurture each other
and extend God’s love and peace to all.”

What can you expect?

Parking is on the Allen St. side of the church, with an entrance through a beautiful garden courtyard. The sanctuary is up the stairs to the left (elevator for handicap accessibility just inside the door); restrooms, nursery and kids Sunday school can be found to the right.

Or you can enter by the George St. doors, and reverse the directions given here.

Choir music, hymn singing, Scripture reading, prayer, and thoughtful sermons are all part of the hour long service.

What is there for my children?

Kids are welcome to pick up an activity bag as you come into the sanctuary for the 9:30 am worship service, and a children’s story helps to make the message of the morning understandable to them. An attractive nursery is available if children are restless. Children have opportunities to contribute music and drama in worship services periodically throughout the year.

One hour of Sunday School for kids 3 years and up begins partway through the worship at 10:00 am. Nursery care provides a safe, loving environment for those 2 years and younger. Parents can join an adult class or relax with a cup of coffee.

What should I wear?

While there’s no formal dress code at WKUM, you’ll find men wearing everything from jeans and polo shirts, to suits and ties. Women wear pants, skirts or dresses. Most importantly, though, we look forward to seeing you, not what you’re wearing.
